Chances are if you have stumbled upon our page dedicated solely to the adventure and uniqueness of Scotland elopements, you might be considering your own magical wedding experience. So first, let us say, welcome! There are endless eye-catching and soul-warming locations on this beautiful planet of ours. But Glen Coe in western Scotland is without a doubt one of our personal favourites with jaw-dropping natural landscapes. We have a feeling you and your fiancé are a pretty awesome couple if you are considering this gorgeously romantic location for your Scotland elopement.
Glencoe valley has been the backdrop to some of the most popular Blockbuster movies of our time. Do you Bond fans remember when James Bond and M visit Bond’s hometown? It was filmed in the Glen Coe valley called Glen Etive. And if you think the movie’s cinematography is gorgeous, it is even more stunning in person!
For those Hogwart fans, you might also recognize the Scottish Highlands as the backdrop to numerous scenes in the Harry Potter series. Of course a movie that is based on the world of magic would choose Glen Coe for its location!
But this is not at all surprising. Glen Coe is one of the most beautiful valleys in the world with mountains towering on both sides, moody skies, fresh streams and waterfalls and almost otherworldly Black Corries flats nearby.
For our couples who choose to have a Glencoe wedding or elopement, there are plenty of options nearby for hiking, observing (and even feeding) the deer, watching the sunset over the mountains and lakes or sampling world-famous Scottish whiskey. If we are lucky we may even have a chance to see the Northern Lights!
“There’s no place on earth with more of the old superstitions and magic mixed into its daily life than the Scottish Highlands”
On top of its incessant beauty, Glen Coe valley is quite peaceful. Despite its occasional Hollywood presence, the valley remains a quiet and intimate location where you can focus on being together and committing your life to one another. Whether you want to say your vows by the side of a loch in a private Glen Coe elopement or within a glen with towering mountains as a backdrop for your Glen Coe wedding, it is as if the Highlands was created for couples’ engagements, intimate weddings and, elopements.
While eloping in true Scottish fashion, we will be excited to embrace whatever mother nature gives us. Spring is typically foggy and grey while autumn/winter is chillier with sporadic spouts of rain.
Even in the summertime, we come prepared for anything and are ready to take advantage of every mood the valleys give us. As Glen Coe elopement photographers and videographers, we believe that for our couples who come prepared with an adventurous spirit, there is no such thing as bad weather.
Even the local Glen Coe deer come out to celebrate your love and union!
When we scout locations for our couples, we invest plenty of time and effort into researching and reviewing the locations. After ample time exploring the Glen Coe valley as well as the surrounding Scottish Highlands, we can help our couples plan out their Glen Coe elopement from beginning to end.
Not only do we offer several locations to choose from, but we can also suggest local places to stay, things to do, what to pack, where the best whiskey is, recommended suppliers, additional wedding vendors and, of course, introduce you to some local deer!
We are a pair of adventure-loving photographers and filmmakers who are always up for a challenge – from shooting an underwater wedding in the Caribbean to intimate, mountain-top Scottish elopements.
